28th Annual In Vitro Fertilization and Embryo Transfer A Comprehensive Update - 2015
Activity Details
Activity Name: 28th Annual In Vitro Fertilization and Embryo Transfer A Comprehensive Update - 2015
Needs Assessment: This program brings together a renowned faculty to present the latest developments in every phase of in vitro fertilization and embryo management. The course addresses the needs of practicing scientists, gynecologists, reproductive endocrinologists, residents, and fellows who wish to review the specialty and update their knowledge in this rapidly changing and expanding field.

The intimate setting of the conference promotes extensive contact among speakers and participants with question periods after each talk and many opportunities for informal interaction. A very extensive course syllabus developed by the course instructors will be provided and an audience response system will be used to promote interaction with the speakers.

Particular attention will be devoted this year to the rapidly expanding trend toward deferred embryo transfer, new testing for endometrial receptivity, oocyte and embryo cryopreservation, time lapse imaging of early embryo development, the impact of obesity and the maternal environment on IVF success and perinatal morbidity, practical aspects of ultrasound-guided transfer technique, and next generation techniques for PGS. A laboratory mini-symposium directed by Dr. William B. Schoolcraft will cover time lapse imaging, new methods of embryo culture, oocyte and embryo vitrification, novel sperm selection techniques, and comprehensive chromosome screening.
Course Objectives: By attending this course, participants will:
  • Become familiar with standard, successful methods of each aspect of the clinical practice of assisted reproductive technology and in particular the very significant advantages of deferred embryo transfer, made possible through vitrification; alternatives to full stimulation; prevention of OHSS; the role of lifestyle issues in the male and female; time-lapse monitoring; aging of the follicle and oocyte; ovarian tissue and oocyte cryopreservation; newer techniques for Comprehensive Chromosome Screening; optimal hormone replacement for embryo transfer; and critical aspects of embryo transfer technique.
  • Learn aspects of embryo culture and embryo management to achieve optimal results with IVF.
  • Learn about novel methods for sperm selection, non-invasive methods for embryo selection, and options for fertility preservation for the woman with cancer.
