Learning Objectives  

At the end of this activity, the participant should be able to:


  1. Describe unique features of young adult social smokers and trends in social smoking in the U.S;
  2. Discuss the social contexts in which social smoking is initiated and fostered among young adults and consider implications of this behavior;
  3. Understand how the social context of tobacco use varies by type of tobacco product;
  4. Develop and/or apply an informed strategy to assist the social smoker to quit tobacco.


Method of Participation / Instructions for Obtaining Credit

Participants must view the recorded webinar (streaming from ReadyTalk), answer the multiple-choice test questions, and complete the evaluation form online to receive a certificate. 

You must receive a score of 80% or better on the post-test to earn a certificate. You will have an unlimited number of attempts to successfully complete the post-test.  Your certificate will be available immediately for print or download upon completion of the entire activity.

Fees
The cost to participate in this activity is $35.00.

Estimated Time
The estimated time to complete this activity is 1-1/2 hours, which is equivalent to 1.50 credits.

Accreditation

The University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine (UCSF) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

UCSF designates this enduring material for a maximum of 1.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses: For the purpose of recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME.

Social Workers: Please be advised that credit qualification for this activity expired November 30, 2016 and does not currently meet the licensure credit requirements of the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
