Breast Cancer for Primary Care Providers
Activity Name:
Breast Cancer for Primary Care Providers
Activity Information:
Overview:
The Institute for Public Health (IPH) works in collaboration with the California Department of Health Care Services Every Woman Counts (EWC) program to ensure that high-quality breast and cervical cancer screening services are available to low-income, medically underserved women. EWC is part of the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (NBCCEDP), which is sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
EWC is committed to enhancing the knowledge and skills of the EWC health care providers and ALL health care providers across California working in the field of women's health. As part of this commitment, the EWC Training Center was developed in partnership with the IPH to provide professional development opportunities.
The EWC Training Center is a comprehensive online resource that includes online continuing education modules, a schedule of live CME courses offered by the IPH, clinical tools, breast and cervical cancer facts and stats, and an extensive link library. The EWC Training Center currently offers eight web modules for continuing education (CE) credits. These online modules provide one CME credit each. The intended modules are presented by experts in the field of breast cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment and were recorded at the 2015 EWC Breast and Cervical Cancer Symposium.
