Description:
This course will familiarize the targeted audience to the uses of Point-of-Care Ultrasound with respect to the emergent and critically ill pediatric patient. Course Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, the participants should be able to:
Describe how physics relates to ultrasound image acquisition and processing
Summarize how ultrasound instruments affect image acquisition
Review relevant literature pertinent to Pediatric Point-ofCare Ultrasound
Identify the indications for and limitations for Point-of-Care Ultrasound in Pediatric Emergency Medicine
Recognize the relevant focused findings and pitfalls associated with Pediatric Point-of-Care Ultrasound basic and advanced applications
Be familiar with scanning techniques for different ultrasound applications
