Activity Information: This activity is intended for primary care physicians, diabetologists & endocrinologists, and cardiologists.

The goal of this activity is to increase awareness of available and emerging information about sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors in the treatment of type 2 diabetes, and the importance of cultural competency in diabetes care in order to improve clinical outcomes in patients with type 2 diabetes who belong to a racial or ethnic minority group.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

-Identify cultural competency as a barrier to optimal diabetes care among racial and ethnic minorities -Propose strategies to communicate important education points effectively to patients
