Activity Name:	Essentials of Primary Care Pain Management Conference 2019
Description:	Course Details
Needs Assessment:	EVENT IS FULLY BOOKED. REGISTRATION HAS CLOSED. For primary care clinicians and other health sciences professionals interested in recent scientific data and current clinical practices regarding pain management. Topics covered will include low back pain, migraines, neuropathic pain, opioids and behavioral change techniques. An optional preconference event will be held on Friday, September 20 from noon-5 p.m. to discuss Medication Assisted Treatment Waiver Training. CME credit calculation does not include the preconference. Note: This course fulfills the Medical Board of California CME requirement for management and the treatment of of terminally ill and dying patients. AAFP credit is pending from the the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Course Objectives:	Course Highlights Expert presentations from leaders in pain management. Interactive, small group case discussions. Abuse and addiction at the front lines of primary care. Guideline-based evaluations for low back pain. Opioid tapering practices and conversations. New migraine treatment options. Legal issues in pain management. Sponsored by the UC Davis Center for Advancing Pain Relief and the UC Davis Health Office of Continuing Medical Education.
