Global Objective for series
Be aware of the importance of radiation safety as it relates to fluoroscopy practice. When treating patients, physicians often forget to consider the "invisible" threat of radiation. The goal of this activity is to reduce the radiation doses to both patient and staff by describing the radiation hazards and explaining how to reduce exposure.

ACTIVITY OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to: 

  1. Identify who may operate fluoroscopy equipment
  2. List the risks of potential radiation exposures associated with fluoroscopy
  3. State the aspects of fluoroscopy operations which are relevant to radiation safety and good medical practice
  4. Define the C-arm spacer cone requirements

  2. Complete the test (must pass 100% – you have two chances)
